Reaction to fire

In its test lab "F Plus" Ltd. carries out firing tests of products, building components and structures.

The reaction to fire is characteristics of the products that defines the contribution to the development of the fire. The main characteristics which are measured in the tests are:

  • released energy during combustion;
  • burning;
  • flaming particles;
  • weight loss;
  • smoke removal;
  • burned length;
  • rate of spread of combustion.

The laboratory performs tests on:

  • building products;
  • plastics;
  • textile.

The classes of reaction to fire are: A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. Depending on the specific purpose of the products, the following index are added: fl - floor coverings; L-pipes; ca- cables; roof- roof coverings. The products are also evaluated for the emission of smoke (s1, s2, s3) and the presence of flaming particles (d0, d1 and d2).
